Cousin's Cafe is a low-key spot tucked inside the Bewley Building in downtown Lockport, carving out its identity as both a casual cafe and meal delivery hub. The cozy interior welcomes a steady stream of locals who appreciate unpretentious, home-style cooking at wallet-friendly prices. It feels like a slice of small-town life where regulars greet each other by name and settle in for hearty, straightforward meals.

This spot works well for an early morning stop or a laid-back lunch. Breakfast here, featuring staples like the Western omelet and corned beef hash, comes out promptly, making it a practical choice for anyone needing a reliable start to the day. By midday, the menu shifts toward simple classics like club sandwiches and subs, with a few local favorites such as their Pittsburgh salad and homemade pie offering a sweet finish.

Expect a modest dining room where the chatter is friendly but low-key—not a place to linger for hours, but perfect for those who want a quick bite that feels like a neighbor stopping by with something made from scratch. The setup inside the building means you may pass through the lobby and elevators to find the cafe tucked away to the left, so first-timers might appreciate a heads-up.

Evenings bring a regular crowd for comfort food dinners, where the atmosphere leans homey rather than polished. This spot suits anyone who values a space that’s less about trend and more about familiar flavors and local connection. Occasionally, they offer specials like a fish fry on Fridays, which draws in a mix of longtime customers and newcomers alike.

Overall, Cousin's Cafe fits neatly into Lockport’s everyday dining scene as a place where time is taken with good food rather than speed or style. It's a practical choice for families, early birds, and anyone looking for classic American breakfast and lunch dishes without fuss.

From A to Z this place is a diamond in the rough. Nestled inside Lockport a little café that serves top notch food asap! The owner is wonderful and been residing here for 34 years! And is also a distant relative to the late Lucial Ball!

Our family enjoyed our meal here! Great prices and good food. Located in the Bewley Building -through the lobby, past the elevators, to the left. Will be back!

This is a hidden gem , a locally popular dinner. It really has a homey feel as most of the customers are local who know each other well, so there’s a lot of banter between tables. Food is great, especially the breakfasts. Not fancy but home cooking, small town dinner , so,idly good. Very reasonable prices.

Eventually the secret will get out about this place and none of us "in the know" will be able to find a table. This was my first visit and I'm ready to become their next regular. The best way I can describe this restaurant is that it gives you a feeling of community. It was clear to me I was dining with a bunch of regulars since one of the people at the table next to me walked up and grabbed a can of pop from the refrigerator behind the counter, cracked it open and told Diane to add it to her ticket. Another guy at a different table got up and served himself coffee. I noticed someone else walking out from behind the bar when we walked in. I'm not sure what she was doing, but apparently it's understood when you're a regular that you're also family. I had a soup and my friend who was with me had a BLT. We were both extremely happy with our food and service. We grabbed a table near the door when we first walked in because I like to sit on the perimeter my first time visiting a place. I like to take in everything, and this place does not disappoint. Take a look at my photos to see how little I had to pay for good food and quality service. Truth be told, I was out looking at houses before taking a break at Cousin's. If I didn't want to move to Lockport before, I sure as heck want to now! Heck, I may even stop in and ask Diane for a job. The dish washer did not show up for work the day we were there, so she was pulling double duty. I'm not sure if she has someone else cooking or not, so maybe triple duty! Once word gets out about how great and affordable this place is, she'll be needing the help. Or like me, all the new people will feel instantly like family and just pitch in where needed.

This is a hidden gem of Lockport and I would have never found it if it was not for word of mouth and great recommendation. Cold food was cold and the hot fries crispy and perfect (an impossible feat for larger restaurants these days). Diane and her cousin are the hardest working ladies in the biz.

My daughter and I love the place. The food, the service, the prices and Joy and Diane make it a wonderful place to eat. They just make it a very comfortable atmosphere to enjoy your meal.
